ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ

From R. Barrett Noone, M.D. FACS

I first met Scott R. Pilarz, S.J. when we served together on the ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ' s Board of Trustees. I was a surgeon and educator in Philadelphia and and he was Professor of English at Georgetown. His humility and friendship were exemplified in our meeting, when he said "just call me Scott." We were no longer "Doctor" and "Father" but Barry and Scott for the next 20 years. I was privileged to wear cap and gown, process, and sit behind him on the stage for his first inauguration as President. In 2018 I was excited to return to Scranton to help celebrate his reunion with the school and the leadership position he loved. Scott was a respected academician, teacher, and administrator; but he will long be remembered for his devotion to countless colleagues, friends, and students. May he Rest In Peace with the Lord he loved.
