Request Technology Equipment/Support

for a Campus Event, Meeting or Class.

Faculty and staff can request technical assistance and/or technical equipment for oncampus meetings, events or classes. If you are requesting a series of events or meetings, you can request the entire series using one form submission.

  • Before you can request equipment, you must first reserve an event space. When booking the location for the event, a minimum of one hour before and one hour after the event for setup and breakdown of equipment is preferred.
  • To request technical assistance and/or technical equipment, complete the 
  • After your form is submitted, your information will be routed to our Technology Support Center and you will be contacted for more information or to complete the request.
  • When requesting technical assistance, our staff arrives prior to your event start time and gets everything set up for your use. They will meet with you prior to the event start. Our staff member will provide instructions for the equipment requested, and will return after the event to shut down and secure our equipment.

NOTE: There is a 24 hour reservation policy for all requests. Please make all reservations for the weekend by Thursday afternoon. Equipment services are available when the Technolgy Support Center is open.

Equipment Loans

A temporary loaner computer may be requested (when available) by faculty or staff while their computer is being repaired if the system cannot be returned in a timely manner.  The loaner may not be the same type as the original equipment but every effort is made to provide equipment that will maintain productivity until the repair is completed.

Special Events Loans

Setup of computer hardware is available for special events by contacting the Technology Support Center at 941-HELP or by emailing techsupport@scranton.edu.  Detailed information on room layout, start and end times, and also the earliest time the room is available for setup should be provided. When considering where the computers are to be placed, please verify that power and network connections are easily accessible and close by.  

Moving Your Equipment

Requests for computer equipment moves should be made by contacting the Technology Support Center as far in advance as possible. IT will assist with disconnecting the equipment prior to the movers arriving and reconnect the equipment when all furniture and equipment is at the new location. The Department should provide a priority list for which employees need to be reconnected first.

The office of  will deliver and set up audio/visual equipment to classrooms as well as special event locations on campus. We assist the faculty and staff in integrating technology into instruction as well as professional development.

Requirements

Equipment is available for loan to faculty, staff, students to support official ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ programs and events. During heavy booking situations, priority is given to teaching faculty and institutional level events. Faculty should request equipment for student use.

Availability

The requested equipment will be delivered to any classroom or meeting room accross campus. There is no charge for this delivery providing such deliveries take place within the normal business hours. Requests for service outside of normal business should be discussed with the Academic and Media Services Coordinator at 941-4357.
