The ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Police Department is the primary law enforcement authority at The ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ. ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Police Officers have full law enforcement powers, including the authority to make arrests for criminal violations on ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ property.

Our department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with 15 full time sworn Police Officers, 3 Service Officers, 4 Police Dispatchers, 20 Student Officers, and over 250 security cameras on and around campus. ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Police includes other departments such as Parking Services, Emergency Communications, and Environmental Health & Safety.

These entities work in unison with each other to ensure that The ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ is a place where living and learning can flourish.

On March 30th 2016, The ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Police Department became Accredited by the PA Chiefs of Police Association when the PLEAC Commission voted unanimously to accredit UPD.

Less than 10% of police agencies in Pennsylvania are PLEAC accredited, with ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ Police being 1 of only 8 private colleges and universities in PA meeting all 128 standards required for accreditation.

It is a huge accomplishment for our department, and we look forward to continuing the delivery of a caring, competent, and professional police service.
