Psychology
Class of 2020

Why did you choose Scranton?

I chose Scranton because it balanced a quality education with a community centered around support and humor.

What did you like about the psychology major?

The major is both broad and specific. It is broad enough to gain literacy in a variety of sciences while being specific enough with its unique professors to cater to anyone’s specific interests.  Also, because of the relatively small class size compared to other universities, I had a lot of one-on-one time with my professors. There are a thousand opportunities to get involved in the Department.

How did the psychology program prepared you for the real world?

In my Junior year, I took the Career Seminar on how to succeed in both further education and employment in practical ways. As a first-generation college student, I can say that the Psychology Department equipped me with knowledge that was otherwise unknown.

What are you up to now?

I am at Gallaudet ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ in their Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology.
