Recent Student Research

Most renowned psychology programs offer few opportunities for undergraduates to conduct research with faculty. Not so at the ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ!

We encourage all of our students to engage in research. In fact, Scranton pyschology students present and publish with faculty at a much higher rate than national norms. In the 2023-2024 academic year, for instance, 23 former and current Scranton students coauthored conference presentations (resulting in 11 conference presentations) and 7 Scranton students coauthored journal articles/book chapters.

Our students gain psychology research experience through four avenues. They can:

  • Volunteer their time as a research assistant without academic credit.
  • Participate in the Faculty/Student Research Program, a university-wide program, for transcript recognition.
  • Enroll in Undergraduate Research in Psychology (PSYC 493), which provides both academic credit and transcript recognition.
  • Conduct research and write a thesis as part of the Honors Program.
