ACHE Activities

These are some interesting events and activities that we encourage students to take part in!

Mentor Program

We pair the second-year students with a first-year student to:
  • Facilitate networking
  • Allow first year students to obtain valuable advice from second year students regarding the program, coursework, and career planning

MHA Social

This is the first event of the year and it is a welcoming event for the first-year MHA students to meet with second-year students and faculty.

Welcome Back Mixer

Typically the first event of the year, current first and second year students meet at a local restaurant to socialize, make new friends, and meet everyone in their program.

Case Competition

This is an annual event that provides graduate students an opportunity to put what they have learned into practice by allowing them to work on cases. Graduate students from different universities travel to the ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ to present their recommendations for the case they are given before a panel of judges. The first, second, and third-place teams receive cash awards at the final ceremony.

Residency Panel

Every year, the ACHE Student Chapter asks 4-5 MHA alumni to return to discuss their experiences during their residency and fellowships. This is a great way for students to network and reconnect with MHA alumni.

Annual Healthcare Symposium

This an Annual Symposium that is open to undergraduate and graduates MHA students and it provides a networking opportunity to meet with various healthcare professionals and educational panel discussion

International Dinner

The International Dinner is a potluck event held each year where students and faculty are invited to prepare and present dishes that reflect their heritage and nationalities.

Annual Spring Barbecue

Professor Wiercinski hosts the Annual Spring Barbecue at his home outside of Scranton each year, giving MHA students and faculty the chance to interact outside of the program.

MHA Alumni Society Golf Tournament

For students that are interested, the MHA Alumni Society golf tournament is held in the spring. At this event, students and faculty join teams and enjoy a competitive round of golf.
