Parent & Family Webinars

We are happy to partner with several campus colleagues to offer a series of Webinars to give our parents and families an opportunity to learn more about The ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ.

  • Supporting Your First-Year Student: The Second Semesterplus or minus

Most first-year Scranton students attended New Student Orientation last summer, often with their parent(s) or families in tow. It’s hard to believe these students have already completed their first semester! With the second semester fast approaching, join us as select ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ staff members will come together for a webinar designed to support and encourage student success this coming semester!

    Topics will include:

How to support a student who struggled to get connected socially.
Encouraging academic success and identifying resources.
Ways to encourage and support your student's wellness.
What do you need to know about FAFSA & Financial Aid?
Sophomore Housing: How the process works.
(Our apologies. The welcome and introduction of panelists was inadvertently cut from this video)

    Demystifying Academic Expectations

Join Dr. Hank Willenbrink and Dr. Mary Troy for an insightful webinar designed for parents and family members of ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ students. In "Demystifying Academic Expectations," two esteemed faculty members will provide an inside look at the academic environment at Scranton. They will provide insight into how you can best support your student and will answer any questions you may have.

The webinar is intended for the parents and families of first-year students but would be valuable for all student families.
