Airport

The ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania in the center of the city of Scranton.  The campus is 2 hours from New York City and 2 hours from Philadelphia and is easily accessible by car, bus or air.  The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre International Airport (AVP) is only a fifteen-minute drive from campus. The OGE offers a complimentary pick-up service for new international students arriving at the Scranton airport/bus terminal to be transported to The ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ. 

Bus - The Greater Scranton Area

The ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ has contracted with the County of Lackawanna Transit System (COLTS) to give students, faculty and staff access to all 31 COLTS routes. Through the Campus Connections service, members of The ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ community are able to ride all COLTS buses for free with their student ID cards.

Scranton is conveniently located 2 hours away from major cities, such as New York and Philadelphia. Students are able to take a bus at the Martz Bus Terminal, which is located in downtown Scranton on 23 Lackawanna Avenue. Martz Trailways runs many schedules to and from New York City and Philadelphia throughout the course of the day.

Car Rental

Renting a car may be a good option for students and scholars, especially when it is for a day trip or a short holiday. There are several car rental agencies that are in the Scranton area:

  • Enterprise
  • Hertz
  • Avis

Some general requirements for renting a car include:

  • Being at least 21 years of age
  • Having a major credit card such as Visa or MasterCard with enough money
  • Having a valid driver’s license
  • Having a valid Passport 

Car

Cars are the most popular and convenient form of transportation in Scranton.  Purchasing a car involves a lot of research and proper auto insurance.  If buying a used car, it is advisable to have it checked by a mechanic before making any agreement or payment.  Before buying a vehicle, students and scholars should know their rights and responsibilities.

Students and scholars who own cars and are interested in purchasing a ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ parking permit should visit the   to view parking options on-campus.

Parking meters are enforced Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm.
