Edward R. Leahy Jr. Clinic for the Uninsured

Our Services

The Leahy Clinic provides free, non-emergency adult health care. This includes provision of routine physical exams and treatment of common medical conditions. We also offer some immunizations and help to enroll patients in pharmaceutical assistance programs for chronic conditions. The Leahy Clinic makes referrals to other community health resources and specialists for patients with complex or chronic conditions. The clinic has professional affiliations with local hospitals and diagnostic centers to provide lab, x-ray and other diagnostic services at low cost to patients.

Our Mission

The Leahy Clinic provides free, non-emergency health care to uninsured Lackawanna County residents who may otherwise forego health care due to cost or seek care in hospital emergency rooms. The clinic strives to provide high quality care in a welcoming, respectful and compassionate environment. The clinic offers opportunities for teaching, learning, research and service to ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ and faculty, students, and ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ. The Leahy Clinic serves in the ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ's Jesuit tradition of educating "men and women for and with others" and accomplishes Geisinger's goal of making better health easier for the community.

The Leahy Clinic envisions a community where all individuals have access to those services that help them achieve, improve, or maintain a quality of life that is consistent with optimal health, education, and wellness. We are privileged to provide service to our neighbors, and grateful for the support of volunteer students, facu;ty, and healthcare professionals who make this possible. We are particularly grateful for our patients, who trust us with their medical care and provide opportunities for transformational learning for our students.

We offer four clinics that are staffed by ÐÓ°ÉÔ°æ faculty, professional staff and graduate students.
