Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Program Overview
Our nursing major provides you with a solid foundation of education and clinical practice to prepare you for a successful transition into professional practice.
You'll develop your critical thinking skills at each level of the program, using science and evidence to inform your clinical judgement. Your clinical experiences begin sophomore year and will challenge you to develop yourself as an advocate and leader.
You'll collaborate with faculty that are engaged in clinical practice and research and receive individualized attention in both the classroom and clinical settings.
Curriculum
The curriculum prepares you to deliver nursing care throughout the lifespan, implementing interventions that promote health, prevent illness, and manage disease. Healthcare disparities, access to care and issues of social justice are considered throughout the program. We infuse our Jesuit values into practice, considering the individual beyond physical health. You'll also engage in service learning courses that will enrich your exposure to diversity and inclusion and assist you in living the Jesuit values.
The major requires 127.5 credits, which include courses in liberal arts, sciences, major requirements and electives.
During the spring semester of sophomore year, you have an opportunity to study abroad, or earn credits toward your degree with one of our travel courses.
