Internships @ Scranton

Internships and other practical experiences are forms of EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING that integrate knowledge and theory from the classroom with practical application and skill development in a professional setting. The provides extensive support every step of the way for Scranton students. To secure academic credit for your internship, you must contact your academic advisor directly.

By adding these experiences to the educational experience at The �Ӱ�ԭ��, students:

Establish career goals and objectives relevant to areas of interest
Apply classroom learning to an appropriate work setting, gaining valuable experience in the field
Further develop a strong network of professional contacts within industries
Gain an in depth understanding of a chosen field
Develop "soft skills" to enhance future performance and marketability

Your summer experiences provide you with an opportunity to explore your interests, develop insight into various career fields, and build your skill set. If you've secured an unpaid internship, your experience will be valuable, but could involve some personal expense. These costs may include travel to and from your destination, housing, living expenses, and/or tuition for internship credit. To help, the �Ӱ�ԭ�� offers several scholarship awards to support students doing unpaid internships or research.

The Career Center can help you identify funding opportunities to support your internship. Use the list below as you begin to explore funding sources that are both internal and external to the �Ӱ�ԭ��.
