Under the leadership of the Dean, this office strives to meet the needs of individual departments and programs, promote excellence across the Leahy College of Health Sciences as a whole, and to represent the priorities of the College of Health Sciences to the larger university community and external constituencies such as parents, alumni, grant-funding agencies, and the Leahy Clinic.

Victoria Hammer Castellanos, PhD, RD, is the Dean of the Leahy College of Health Sciences (LCHS) at the ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ. The office has one associate dean and two assistant deans responsible for day-to-day management of the graduate and undergraduate programs.

Before becoming the Dean, she served as the Associate Dean of LCHS for 10 years.  Prior to joining the ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ, Dr. Castellanos was Associate Dean of the ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ Graduate School and Associate Professor of Nutrition at Florida International ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ in Miami. Dr. Castellanos earned BS from Montana State ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ, MS and PhD in Nutrition from the ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ of California at Davis and completed an NIH Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Pennsylvania State ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ. She has had numerous publications and grants in the area of nutrition care for frail older adults and served as the Director of the Long Term Care Institute in the National Resource Center on Nutrition, Physical Activity and Aging at Florida International ÐÓ°ÉÔ­°æ.
